Imagined Site
My introduction to architectural design began with the consideration of site. In this vein a fictitious landscape was created in which possibly infinite gorges run beneath a hilly plain. An observer is led through a minimal intervention cut into the hill, and down into the chasms. The path culminates in the largest of these gorges, allowing the observer to leave the perscribed path and explore the cavern themselves. The model shown explodes sectionally using a handmade gantry system to better view the interior of the gorges.
